The Capital Region deals with strategic and regional development.
As opposed to the prevailing planning traditions in Denmark, the task of regional development crosses traditional sectors and geographies. The main tasks are
concipation of long-term, comprehensive development strategies for the region
analysis and benchmarking of the development of the region, among others to identify strengths and barriers for growth
selection of focus areas, initiation, coordination and support for development activities
creation of dialogue and cooperation between the many players within the field of regional development
counselling and advice about technology transfer from hospitals to a wider spectrum of society
Regional development includes various different fields, for example education, culture, research and innovation, business and commerce, international cooperation (the EU and Øresund), environmental issues and natural ressources.
