creoDK tasks

creoDK provides advice to researchers on how to influence the priorities of the EU’s research programme and how to get involved in the European Research Area. Moreover, we represent our three partners vis-à-vis the EU institutions and raise awareness of their research activities and capabilities.

Research lobbying
creoDK’s most important task is to advise researchers from the three partners on how to influence the priorities of the EU’s 7th framework programme for research and technological development (FP7). The goal is to influence the annual work programmes and to get more involved in European research projects. In close cooperation with the researchers, we  analyse and assess the opportunities in the EU system. We plan a lobbying strategy, identify relevant stakeholders and, when relevant, we use events such as small workshops or seminars to promote a specific area and to get access to the decision makers.

creoDK also follows the debate and upcoming negotiations in relation to the Common Strategic Framework on research and innovation including the next framework programme which is expected to begin in 2014. 2011 is foreseen to be the year when the framework programme will be structured and through an open debate the Commission welcomes inputs from all parties. Consequently, a range of position papers have been published from various stakeholders. A small selection of these can be downloaded from the panel on the right.

Promoting the partners in Brussels
creoDK and our partners organise various types of events e.g. seminars, workshops and conferences. We often co-operate on such events with strategic partners and other regional and research offices in Brussels. The objective is to promote our partners and their research activities.

Focus on a specific research topic can be promoted through EU-oriented media. Therefore, creoDK provides advice on how to gain media visibility and we can facilitate contact to professional media advisers specialised in EU-affairs.

We also plan to use the upcoming Danish EU-presidency in the first half of 2012 to involve our partners in various activities and to promote the best of Danish research.

Presence in Brussels is vital for making an impact
creoDK facilitates the visibility of the three partners in Brussels by participating in relevant conferences, seminars and other events.  In addition, we identify  events, thematic days and weeks at an early stage in order to suggest speakers from our partners at these events. The events are listed in the newsletter creoDK Update (only in Danish).

creoDK benefits from its presence in Brussels in terms of partnerships and networks which are valuable for our partners’ possible impact on the EU agenda.
