About the Regional Council

The Regional Council is the democratically elected assembly which manages the affairs of the Capital Region of Denmark.

41 members are elected for a term of 4 consecutive years.

The Regional Council comprises 41 members who manage the affairs of the Capital Region of Denmark. Elections to the Council are held every four years. The most recent election was held in November 2017 and the current term runs until the end of 2021.

The Regional Council elects 1 chairman and 2 deputy chairmen from its members.
