​Prof Micali is a child and adolescent psychiatrist, specialist in eating disorders. Her research has overall focused on understanding biological and intergenerational risk for eating disorders and eating behaviours using a developmental perspective worldwide in large cohort studies. In CCC2000 she has been researching eating behaviour and the development of eating behaviours and disordered eating over childhood and adolescence. Her research includes genomics, epidemiology, neuroimaging and treatment. At present she leads 4 studies focusing on eating behaviour, the development of eating disorders and their impact on individuals' social and psychological wellbeing in CCC2000.
