Copenhagen Emergency Medical Services

The Copenhagen Emergency Medical Services provide immediate care to people with acute illness or injury in the Capital Region of Denmark.

 

The Copenhagen EMS is responsible for the following:

    • Emergency call-taking for health related problems (via the 112 system)
    • Emergency Medical Dispatch 
      • Emergency ​ambulances
      • Physician staffed prehospital critical care units
      • Helicopter Emergency Medical Services
      • High dependency and urgent inter-hospital transfers
      • Prehospital psychiatric critical care unit
      • Non-urgent patient transport
  • Out-of-hours medical helpline 1813 (available 24 hours daily)
  • Major Incident Medical Management (including preparedness planning)
  • On-scene major incident medical commanders
  • Emer​gency Medical Coordination Centre (EMCC)
