Summary of the video "Getting round and about"
The video says that it should be easy for citizens to travel between home, work and leisure activities.
It must be easy to get into and out of the Region, and there should be a significant improvement in public transport.
The Capital Region of Denmark and a number of municipalities in the Region point to an extension of the metro and the local railway network. And it has been decided to build a light railway along the Ring 3 motorway from Ishøj to Lyngby.
Better transport links are also important for ensuring that the Region can cope in competition with other European cities. Links to and from abroad should be top priority to attract international investment, tourism and knowledge workers.
The Region is working on more flight connections from Copenhagen Airport to destinations that are important for the Danish business community and tourism.
A fixed Fehmarn Belt link will make the Capital Region of Denmark a hub between Scandinavia and the rest of Europe. The Region is therefore prepared to couple up with the European high-speed trains.
And a motorway connection between Fehmarn, Høje Taastrup and Elsinore will pave the way for a new fixed link over the Sound between Elsinore and Helsingborg.
There must be more cyclists and better conditions for cyclists, e.g. super cycle highways.
The Capital Region of Denmark is also at the forefront in the development of eco-friendly transport. The Region is involved in testing electric vehicles and uses electric vehicles for day-to-day transport. And there are charging stations at all the Region's hospitals.
