New psychiatric outpatient pharmacy for children and young people opens in Hillerød

​The large number of children and young people referred to child and adolescent psychiatry means that waiting times, particularly for medical treatment, have been increasing. A new medicine outpatient pharmacy in Hillerød is now set to change that.

​In just a few years, the Capital Region of Denmark has brought together municipalities, businesses and researchers to explore new ways of building that save both raw materials and CO2. The Region is also leading the way by reusing soil and building materials in new construction projects.

​Two new, specially designed Babylances are now being put into service. They are intended to improve the care of critically ill newborns and young children, whilst also creating a better environment for children, healthcare staff and parents even during transport.​

​Two new mobile laboratories enable on-site testing of contaminated soil and groundwater, providing more accurate test results whilst also saving the Region both time and money by avoiding costly tests abroad.

Operation waiting times must be reduced further

​Politicians in the Capital Region of Denmark are allocating additional funding over the next three years to reduce waiting times for emergency surgery, including for broken hips and gallbladders. Under the 2026 Budget Agreement, DKK 10.2 million has been allocated for 2026 and DKK 15.3 million annually for the next two years.​

The Regions are putting pressure on the EU The construction industry must play a greater role in the new Circular Economy Act

​The EU is currently preparing its new Circular Economy Act, which aims to strengthen the market for recycled materials and reduce Europe’s dependence on new raw materials. The Capital Region of Denmark and several European metropolitan regions are now calling for the EU to ensure that the construction industry plays a far more central and binding role in the legislation.​

The Capital Region of Denmark extends its qualified recruitment freeze of specialist doctors

​There needs to be more doctors where the patients are sick. The qualified recruitment freeze of specialist doctors in hospitals in the Capital Region of Denmark appears to be working and has now been extended until the end of 2026.

The Capital Region of Denmark has clarified the amount of patients doctors will have in 2026

Today, all GPs in the Capital Region of Denmark will receive information about the minimum number of patients their practice should have in 2026. The Capital Region of Denmark currently has excellent doctor coverage, and many doctors already have more patients than the new minimum quotas suggest. No patients will be required to change doctors as a result of the new patient quotas. ​​​​​​​​​

People with allergies need faster help

​Greater collaboration across sectors, more doctors specialising in allergies, and more research will improve future treatment for people with allergies.

Psychiatry and somatics will become one after the New Year

​The merger of psychiatry and somatics has no practical significance for you as a patient at one of the Region’s psychiatric centres. You still need to go where you usually do.
