The LightCOM project will develop, implement, and evaluate two independent obesity management programmes: an intensive weight-loss intervention and a weight-neutral intervention. Both interventions are explicitly planned to be responsive to the participants' needs and support long-term changes.
In parallel with the clinical research, health economics analyses will be included to examine the cost–effectiveness of the interventions. In addition, the researchers will study how to optimise the implementation of these interventions if they prove to be effective. This will enable the solutions to be rapidly rolled out within the healthcare systems in Denmark and the United Kingdom.
