Educational Background: BSc. Hum. Nutr., MSc in Public Health and PhD in Health Sciences.

Methodological Competencies: I have experience with both qualitative and quantitative methods, including mixed methods and action research. I have worked extensively with phenomenological research and have substantial experience in qualitative interviews and observation. In addition, I have solid expertise in conducting scoping reviews, systematic reviews, and meta synthesis.

Research Focus Areas: My primary research focus is on young adults with cancer. My research is centered about multiple aspects of everyday life, including nutrition-related challenges and appetite, as well as quality of life.

Projects: I am currently the project manager of a study on early detection of cancer in young adults, mapping the scope and characteristics of existing research on early detection and diagnosis of cancer among young adults aged 18–39 years, with particular emphasis on the role of symptoms.
In addition, I am involved in several other research projects that share a common aim of improving everyday life and quality of life among young adults with cancer. These include projects on experiences of nutrition-related challenges following cancer trajectories, as well as experiences of steroid-induced bodily changes during and after cancer treatment in young adults with cancer.
I am also an Associate Professor in the Nutrition and Health programme at VIA University College, Research Lead of the research programme on Nutrition and Quality of Life, and project manager of the CANAPES research project (Cancer and Appetite Supporting Strategies), which investigates appetite and appetite-supporting strategies among cancer patients and is anchored at VIA University

College. Collaborators/Networks: I am affiliated with the research group FOKUS (Research and Knowledge Unit for Cancer and Young Adult Health) and collaborate closely with hospitals, municipalities, and the patient organisation Ung Kræft, the Danish Cancer Society. I am a member of NAYAcareDK and actively engaged in national collaborations focusing on young adults with cancer. I am co-responsible for the CAN-RELATE project, which examines young adults with cancer and their relationships with young adult relatives. Furthermore, I serve as a supervisor and project lead for a study on steroid-induced bodily changes in young adults with cancer. Internationally, I collaborate with Icelandic researchers focusing on nutritional challenges among young adults with cancer. I also contribute to the research community as poster session coordinator at the Danish Cancer Research Days under the Danish Comprehensive Cancer Center (DCCC).
