Bolette Skjødt Rafn is a physiotherapist, PhD, senior researcher at Rigshospitalet and associate professor at the University of Copenhagen. Her work lies at the intersection of clinical oncology, rehabilitation, and mental health. She leads PROTECT, a national multicentre trial on the early detection and management of breast cancer-related lymphoedema, and is also the principal investigator of the Vega Trial, which investigates the impact of exercise communities on personal recovery among young adults with severe mental illness. 
Her research covers late effects of cancer treatment, lymphedema, rehabilitation, and physical activity using randomised multicentre studies, systematic reviews, qualitative studies, register-based data, clinical measurements, and questionnaire data. In addition, she has contributed to national clinical guidelines on post-operative rehabilitation following breast cancer surgery and on exercise interventions for neuropathic pain in cancer survivors.
