Niklas Breindahl’s research focus on surfactant treatment in preterm infants, more specifically the Less Invasive Surfactant Administration (LISA) procedure to improve medical education and clinical performance.
He will establish international consensus on a LISA curriculum. Second, he will collect validity evidence for a consensus-based LISA assessment tool. Furthermore, he will explore whether LISA training can be enhanced by implementing feedback from computerized, objective assessment tools. Finally, he will conduct a multicenter RCT to compare a non-pharmacological approach with routine analgesic treatment regarding LISA failure.
