New laboratory delivers blood test results in one hour

​In future, patients at Bispebjerg Hospital will not have to wait long for the results of their blood tests. One of Europe’s largest fully automated blood test laboratories has just opened, guaranteeing faster blood test results and therefore faster diagnosis and treatment.

Following a tendering procedure, it has now been decided that Team Cowi A/S, with sub-consultants Vilhelm Lauritzen Arkitekter, Mikkelsen Arkitekter A/S and Sted Aps., are to build the centre.

New technology to save lives of cancer patients

​Small sensors on the body of cancer patients who have just undergone an operation will enable early intervention in the event of complications. The technology is being developed collaboratively between the Technical University of Denmark and the Capital Region of Denmark, and it has just received a major grant from the Danish Cancer Society.

​Danish cancer patients can now be referred to Sweden for proton (particle) therapy after the Capital Region of Denmark has established a formal agreement with Region Skåne. Danish companies on the ascent: Toxic soil is big business in China

​Ejlskov, a small Danish company, has just been offered a project contract worth DKK 246 mill. The client is Chinese and the project calls for the clean-up of contaminated soil in the city of Nantong in collaboration with Chinese government-owned corporations. However the project is so extensive and China is so complex that both private and public Danish resources have to come into play in order to secure these contracts. This is a task that regions across Denmark will now be tackling collectively.
